The 4th of July is a perfect time to get away from everything and celebrate America’s birthday at Beacon South Beach Hotel. So many events are expected to be taking place in Miami Beach and nearby that you will never be short of fun things to do.
Of course, the highlight has to be the fireworks splashing across the sky that evening. We will be right between three sets of them, one in Key Biscayne to the south, one to the north at North Shore Park in North Beach and the third to the west at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami. All three will be about 5 miles from us although the one in Key Biscayne cannot be reached directly without using a form of water transportation and would otherwise involve a 15-mile drive through downtown Miami, including going by Bayfront Park, to get there.
All three venues are expected to be quite busy throughout the day as well. Live music, activities, food and drink and more will likely be made available leading up to the fireworks, which will start at around 9 p.m., shortly after the skies have completely darkened. At that time, you can enjoy the sky patriotically lighting up while your feet are digging into the sand of our picturesque beaches.
4TH OF JULY CRUISE
Obviously, you don’t have to be on the beach to enjoy the fireworks. You should also consider really making this a special day by taking a 4th of July cruise. Some of them will offer dinner and drinks as you take in the colorful skies from our beautiful waterways. An option for many of those wanting a more intimate experience is watching from your room at the Beacon South Beach Hotel as it’s likely that at least one set of fireworks will be viewable from there.
If you want to make it an energetic trip to Miami, consider registering for the 4th of July 5K, which will be held at Kendall Indian Hammocks Park at 7:04 a.m., early enough to allow you plenty of time to take advantage of their post-race barbecue picnic and then get back to the Beacon South Beach Hotel, freshen up and head back out for the rest of the holiday festivities taking place in Miami Beach and throughout the Miami area.
If you’re taking an extended vacation around this holiday and you’re a baseball fan, consider spending several more days here. Just three days later, the All-Star Game Fanfest, which will take place a mile north of us at the Miami Beach Convention Center, will start and run through the All-Star Game on July 11, the first to ever take place in the Sunshine State. That will be played just 7 miles away, at Marlins Park.
Regardless of the types of activities that you want to do on and around this holiday, make sure to periodically check which events will take place in our area as more and more options will be scheduled as we get closer to the special day.
